Sunglasses were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Meadow Street home on Sept. 18.
Gift cards were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Yale Street residence on Sept. 19. The suspect is described as a man riding a bicycle, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a backpack.
An officer responded to Garden City Plaza on Sept. 19, where he was able to gain entry into a vehicle and rescue a three-year-old child who was accidentally locked inside. The child was not injured.

An unknown vehicle struck and damaged a parked unoccupied vehicle on the Adelphi University campus on Sept. 19.
An elderly male victim reported that on Sept. 19, he received a phone call from a person claiming to be his nephew’s lawyer. The caller informed the victim his nephew was arrested in Suffolk County and required $7,000 bail in order to be released. As per instructions of the caller, the victim gave the money to a courier service sent to his residence. On Sept. 20, the same person contacted the victim and stated that an additional $9,000 was needed to clear all charges. He was instructed to give the money to a courier service that would be sent to his residence. The victim became suspicious and notified Garden City Police. Police personnel conducted surveillance and the courier was followed to a location in the Bronx where he handed the envelope with the supposed payment to a woman. At that time, Garden City detectives arrested the woman for taking part in the scam. The 21-year-old woman was charged with grand larceny and attempted grand larceny. Upon investigation, the courier service was determined to be a legitimate business. The investigation is ongoing.

A truck/trailer combination was stopped on Cathedral Avenue at Fifth Street on Sept. 21 for multiple traffic violations. Upon investigation, the driver, a 31-year-old man from Hempstead, was arrested for driving with five license suspensions, no safety chains, unsecured machinery and open gasoline containers.
An officer stopped a vehicle on Clinton Road for traveling 55 MPH in a 30 MPH zone on Sept. 21. Upon investigation, the driver, a 26-year-old man from Inwood, was arrested for DWI and excessive speed.
Money, tools, a pocketbook and an electronic device were reported stolen from two vehicles parked at a First Street residence on Sept. 22, and a coin purse was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Lydia Lane residence.
Officers assisted the Fire Department at a dumpster fire on Fourth Street on Sept. 22.
Officers responded to a hazardous condition where pieces of wood fell off the roof of a Stewart Avenue apartment building on Sept. 22.
As a result of a traffic stop investigation on Clinton Road on Sept. 23, officers arrested a 26-year-old woman from Uniondale for driving with 27 driver license suspensions, excessive speed, child under four not in a car seat and uninsured operation.
A 27-year-old man from Floral Park was arrested on Stewart Avenue and Brixton Road on Sept. 24 for driving with six license suspensions and driving in the dark while the vehicle’s headlights were not activated.
A bicycle secured to a bike rack on the south side of the Nassau Boulevard train station was reported stolen on Sept. 24.
Officers investigated an identity theft report on Sept. 25 where a resident’s credit card information was used to open an unauthorized cell phone account and make unauthorized purchases exceeding $9,000.
