GC Historical Society Announces 2020 Art Contest Winners
GC Public Schools and Sacred Heart Academy Participated
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, The Garden City Historical Society cancelled its Reception and Presentation of Awards to the student winners of its 15th Annual Children’s Juried Art Contest. The 2020 theme was “Windows and Architectural Details of Garden City”. Although the awards presentation and exhibit were cancelled, all of the artwork was judged and winners were selected.
The Society thanks Garden City Public School Superintendent Dr. Kusum Sinha, the school principals and art teachers, parents and the 128 student artists who participated this year. In addition to Garden City schools, the Society received one submission from Sacred Heart Academy. Many thanks to our contest judge, Greg Schnoor of Barnes Gallery. We also want to acknowledge Dick Blick Art Materials of Carle Place for, once again, graciously donating prizes for this year's second and third place winners.
Historical Society Education Chair Mary Jane Caldwell is delighted to announce the Contest’s 2020 winners:
