Hofstra And Adelphi Universities Make Forbes’ Top Colleges List

Forbes released its 2018 list of top U.S. colleges this week. See which other New York schools made the list.

Forbes' just released its list of the top colleges in the United States, and Long Island's own Hofstra and Adelphi universities made the list. The 2018 list released this week saw the standard names of Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT and Princeton round out the top five spots.

Forbes says that its list values “outputs” more than “inputs.” The methodology explains that rather than measures like SAT scores and acceptance rates, it looks at things like alumni salaries, college debt and retention and graduation rates. (You can read the full methodology here.)

Hofstra came in at No. 284 in the country, and Adelphi was ranked 344.
