Kings Donates 2,000 Turkeys to Those in Need for Thanksgiving

Giving back to the communities it serves has been a cornerstone of the super market's philosophy.

In response to the needs in our communities, and Kings' commitment to help make this Thanksgiving a memorable event for those in need, Kings Super Markets donated 2,000 turkeys to local food banks and food pantries that provide food to the hungry.

On Nov. 17, Kings distributed more than 250 turkeys (of the 2,000 total) to the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) in Hempstead.

“Giving back to the communities we serve has long been a cornerstone of our philosophy at Kings. The need is especially great this year and we’re delighted to help as many as possible enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal,” said Cheryl Good, manager of community relations and consumer affairs at Kings.

In addition to the above distribution, Kings partnered with the Community Foodbank of New Jersey and LaDainian Tomlinson, running back for the New York Jets, and his foundation, to distribute 1,000 turkeys to food providing agencies in Plainfield, NJ.

Other organizations in the Kings trading areas that received a donation of turkeys included the Salvation Army, Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris, Table to Table, Helping Hands Food Pantry, Pascack Food Center, Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center in Morristown, Hoboken Coalition Shelter and Jr. League of Short Hills and the Oranges.
