LI High School Security Guard Sexually Assaulted Student: Police

Police say the man sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl on multiple occasions throughout the year.

A Long Island high school security guard was arrested Thursday and charged with sexually assaulting a student on multiple occasions.

According to police, Daniel Valenzuela, 22, of D Street, Elmont, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old female student while he was working as a security guard at Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park. Police say the assaults took place on multiple dates between June and October.

Police arrested Valenzuela at his home without incident.

Valenzuela is charged with first- and third-degree criminal sexual act. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.

Police are asking anyone with information about this crime, or who thinks they may have been a victim of Valenzuela, to call Special Victim Squad detectives at (516) 573-4022, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous.
