Local Jewish Institutions Get Thousands In Security Funding
Congresswoman Kathleen Rice helped secure the funding for the organizations from the Department of Homeland Security.

Eight Jewish organizations in Nassau County are receiving more than a million dollars in security funding from the Department of Homeland Security.
Representative Kathleen Rice announced the funding on Monday. The money, $1.2 million, is for security enhancements for the organizations.
“As the threat of terrorism continues to evolve, we need to remain vigilant and take the necessary steps to protect potential targets in our community,” said Rice. “I am pleased that we secured this funding to help enhance security measures and emergency response capabilities at several Jewish nonprofits in our district, and I’ll continue working to ensure that all of our communities have the resources and support they need to keep people safe.”
