Local Restaurateurs to be Honored at Annual Geraldo Rivera Golf Classic
Brothers Gillis and George Poll, who own six Long Island restaurants, will be honored at the event on May 12.
Local brothers Gillis and George Poll, owners of six Long Island restaurants, will be the guests of honor at the annual Geraldo Rivera Golf Classic, hosted by television journalist Geraldo Rivera.
The tournament, which was started over 25 years ago, will be raising money for Life’s WORC and The Family Center For Autism.
The fundraiser will take place on Thursday, May 12 at the Engineers Country Club on 55 Glenwood Road in Roslyn Harbor

The brothers, who were raised in the Flower Hill/Port Washington area, will be honored at the event for their work in the community.
The two own several local restaurants including Bryant and Cooper Steak House in Roslyn, Hendrick's in Roslyn, Cipollini Americana in Manhasset, Toku Americana in Manhasset, Bar Frites in Greenvale and Major's Steak House in East Meadow. In addition they own Angelo's Family Style Italian Restaurant in Yonkers.

“We predict with the reputation and following they have developed over four decades---this will translate into the most exciting ‘Geraldo’ golf event we have ever staged,” Donald Barrick, chairmen of Life’s WORC/Family Center said.
Proceeds from the event will go towards assisting around 1200 people with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, and autism who receive services from this Garden City-based non-profit agency.
The company launched 45 years ago by Queens Courier newspaper publisher Victoria Schneps, a Roslyn Harbor resident, with help from Rivera.
Tickets are $550 per person.
