Long Island Man Convicted For Crime Spree That Left Two Dead
Corey Williams robbed and murdered multiple people in Nassau County from 2015 into 2016.

A Roosevelt man was convicted today of multiple charges for a crime spree that spanned from 2015 into 2016 and left two men dead.
Corey Williams, 19, was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, three counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery, first-degree attempted robbery, six counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree assault and second-degree attempted robbery.
Williams is due back in court for sentencing on Jan. 15. He faces 100 years to life in prison.

“Today’s conviction ensures that this violent predator, whose greed led to the heartless murder of two young men during a brutal robbery spree, will spend the rest of his life behind bars,” said District Attorney Madeline Singas. “I commend the Nassau County Police Department and our prosecutors for their outstanding work to bring this killer to justice.”
On Nov. 18, 2015, 33-year-old Gerber Hernandez was walking home on Babylon Turnpike in Roosevelt from his job as a construction worker when Williams and his accomplice, Malique Shelton, tried to rob him. The pair shot him two times and killed him.

On June 22, 2016, Williams, while inside a home on Wagner Street in Roosevelt with Shelton and another accomplice, robbed 37-year-old Royston Hall of marijuana, and then shot and killed him.
Shelton pleaded guilty to the two incidents and is expected to be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison in December.
On July 8, 2016, Williams and another accomplice called a taxi to Willet Place in Roosevelt. When it arrived, Williams and his accomplice robbed the driver at gunpoint, stealing about $200. Days later, on July 18, Williams tried the same scheme again, calling a taxi to West Raymond Street in Roosevelt. When the driver arrived, Williams shot him in the upper back and stole $120 in cash. He seriously injured the driver.
Williams was arrested on Aug. 31, 2016 after a nine-month-long investigation by the Nassau County Police Department.
