Long Island Police Officer Catches Child Predator In California
The man was allegedly making explicit and threatening calls to a young girl on Long Island, and police tracked him down.

The investigation by a Garden City detective into explicit phone calls a child in the village was receiving led to the arrest of a sexual predator in California.
According to the Garden City Police Department, a detective was investigating numerous sexually explicit and threatening phone calls an 11-year-old girl was getting on her cell phone. The detective determined the calls were coming from two phones registered in California.
The detective determined the phones allegedly belonged to Jayson Brown, 46, and contacted California police. They learned Brown was on the California Sexual Predator Registry.

After securing warrants, the Garden City detective was able to locate one of the phones at a truck stop in California. He notified the San Bernardino Sherriff's Office, who sent officers to the location to arrest Brown.
Thanks to the Garden City detective's work, Brown was charged with offenses related to California sexual predator laws, as well as an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender in Apple Valley, California.
