Lord & Taylor to Host ‘Shop Smart, Do Good' Fundraiser March 28

Annual event gives non-profit organizations the opportunity to raise thousands of dollars in one special day.

On Wednesday, March 28, Lord & Taylor will host “Shop Smart, Do Good! A Fundraising Day” in support of local charitable organizations.

The event will give non-profit organizations the opportunity to raise thousands of dollars in one special day.

“Lord & Taylor is proud to support the local community by hosting 'Shop
 Smart, Do Good,'" said Joseph Ricaurte, vice president/general manager of Lord & Taylor. "In 2011, organizations collectively raised over $585,000. We look forward to partnering with even more groups this spring."

Customers may purchase $5 tickets in advance to “Shop Smart, Do Good!” from participating organizations at lordandtaylor.com/dogoodgardenciti or at the store on the day of the event. Participating organizations keep all proceeds from ticket sales and there is no limit to the number of tickets any organization can sell.

Each ticket includes four separate shopping incentives: a 25 percent coupon to be used on one item in ladies’ sportswear, dresses, suits; another 25 percent coupon to be used on one item in men’s; a 20 percent coupon to be used on one item with very limited exclusions; and a 15 percent savings pass for the day, good on almost anything including cosmetics and fragrances! Plus, receive an additional 10 percent off your purchases if you use your Lord & Taylor card and 15 percent off if you open a new Lord & Taylor account.

Attendees at “Shop Smart, Do Good” will be treated to special attractions and personal appearances by such celebrities as Susan Lucci, Emmy award winning actress, “New York Times” best-selling author and Garden City resident, who will sign complimentary copies of her memoir, All My Life; Daryl Strawberry, New York baseball legend who will sign autographs; Sarabeth of Sarabeth’s Café, award-winning jam maker and acclaimed restaurateur who will sign complimentary cookbook, From My Hands To Yours; Sandra Bark and Bill Donavan, New York Times bestselling author and fashion illustrator who will sign copies of his book, Birds of a Feather Shop Together. Also, Aiden Leslie, emerging pop artist, will sign copies of his latest singles, "Worlds Away" and "Trying to Leave Now" presented exclusively for Lord & Taylor.

Many other special events and activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
