Man Arrested For Starting Fight At Mall, Injuring Officer: Police
Police say the man was acting irrationally and screaming at people in the mall.

A Rosedale man was arrested in the Roosevelt Field Mall on Saturday night after police say he was acting irrationally and injured an officer.
According to police, officers received a call for a fight at the Roosevelt Field Mall, located at 630 Old Country Road in Uniondale. When the officers arrived, police say they found a man acting irrational and screaming. When officers tried to arrest him, the man allegedly began to resist by flailing his arms and kicking his legs. One officer was knocked to the ground, suffering a cut to his right eye and swelling to his left knee.
Police arrested Jarret Rivera, 23, of 24th Street, and took him to an area hospital for treatment.

Rivera is charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
