Police Declare Nassau Kidnapping A Hoax

Police originally said three men attacked the victim, threw him in the trunk of a car and drove off. Now they say it never happened.

UPDATE: After further investigation, the Nassau County Police say that the kidnapping has been deemed a hoax.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Nassau County Police are seeking the public's help to find and identify three men whom they say attacked and kidnapped a man outside a McDonald's in Hempstead Monday night.

According to police, a customer was in the restaurant at 340 Peninsula Blvd. when he saw one man follow another out to the parking lot. Two other men stopped the victim, and then all three began to punch and kick him. The three pushed the man to the ground and began to stomp on his head, police said, before throwing him into the trunk of a silver or gray four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan. The car then drove off north on North Franklin Street with all three attackers inside and the victim in the trunk.
