Garden City detectives arrested a 25-year-old woman from Mineola for leaving the scene of an accident on Washington Avenue on Nov. 14. The woman was also charged with driving with switched license plates and unregistered operation.
Credit cards were reported stolen from an employee’s pocketbook inside Stratford School on Nov. 14.
A home on Hilton Avenue was broken into on Nov. 14. A window on the second floor was found broken and a bedroom was ransacked. Police say there was no reported loss.

Officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department who extinguished a working fire in two offices of a Commercial Avenue building on Nov. 15.
Due to winter storm conditions on Nov. 15, officers responded to numerous calls including auto accidents, tree limbs down, disabled vehicles, hazardous roadways, alarms and traffic light outages.

Various tools were reported stolen from a locked storage room inside a Franklin Avenue business on Nov. 16.
On Nov. 16, officers arrested a 46-year-old woman from Flushing for the theft of merchandise valued at $830 from Lord & Taylor.
Upon investigation of suspicious cars, officers arrested a 28-year-old man from Hempstead on Meadow Street on Nov. 17 for criminal possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone).
On No. 18, CVS reported that a man entered the store and stole razors from a shelf.
As a result of a traffic stop investigation on Osborne Road on Nov. 19, Officers arrested a 30-year-old woman from Hempstead for two outstanding warrants for criminal mischief and criminal possession of marijuana, one outstanding traffic warrant, criminal possession of a controlled substance (THC), improper turn without signal and suspended registration.
A female middle school student was walking home from school on Nov. 19 on Chestnut Street between Franklin Avenue and St. James Street South when a man on a bicycle approached her. The man asked the girl several questions as she walked and also commented on her appearance. The man, described as a Hispanic man, 25 to 30 years old, wearing a black baseball cap, black backpack and riding a black/yellow bicycle, eventually rode away. Anyone with information is requested to call Garden City Detectives at 516-465-4108.
On Nov. 19, a car was entered on Kilburn Road with no loss reported. Two other cars were also broken into nearby in Garden City South.
Officers responded to Old Country Road on Nov. 19 to investigate a report of a red vehicle leaving the scene after being involved in an accident with another vehicle. One minor injury was reported.
Officers responded to Rainbow Place on Nov. 20 to investigate a report of a vehicle leaving the scene after being involved in an accident with another vehicle. No injuries were reported.
