Man Charged With Robbing Bank Half Mile From His Home: Nassau PD

Police say he simply demanded money from the teller, who gave it to him.

Nassau Police have arrested a man they say robbed a bank less than a half mile from his home earlier this month.

According to police, Patrick Pelayo, 43, of Kensington Road South, Garden City South, entered Valley Bank, at 339 Nassau Blvd., at 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 8, approached the teller and demanded money. After getting the cash, police say he fled on foot northbound on Nassau Boulevard towards Princeton Avenue.

An investigation led police to Pelayo, who was arrested without incident.

Pelay is charged with third-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead.
