Man Found Fatally Stabbed In LI Parking Lot

Police say the man got into a fight in a nearby park and was stabbed. Anyone with information is urged to call police.

A man was found stabbed to death in a parking lot near a Hempstead park early Friday morning.

Police say they received a call at 12:07 a.m. for a man who was found lying in the parking lot of Laundry Palace, located at 416 Clinton St. in Hempstead, across the street from Brierly Park. The man, who police have not identified, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died at 1:07 a.m.

According to Newsday, police said the man was involved in an altercation at the park, where he was stabbed in the torso. He then walked to the nearby parking lot, where he collapsed. He was found by workers at the laundromat.

Police did not say if the stabbing was gang related.

Nassau police are asking anyone that has any information about this stabbing to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
