Man Killed in Hempstead Shooting
Another 19-year-old man was also injured in the shooting on Thursday morning.
HEMPSTEAD, NY - A Hempstead man was killed and another man was injured in a shooting in Hempstead on Thursday morning, according to Nassau Police.
At about 4:10 a.m., Damien Pinckney, 37, was shot once in the chest by an unknown person while in his home on Lawson Street, sustaining a fatal injury, police said.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:59 a.m. by a staff physician.

A 19-year-old man was also shot in the arm and transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.
