Man Shot Multiple Times While Parked At Nassau Gas Station

Police say the victim managed to drive himself to a nearby hospital for treatment of his multiple gunshot wounds.

Nassau police are investigating an attempted murder that happened in Hempstead Friday evening.

According to police, a 30-year-old man was sitting in his car at the BP gas station at 415 South Franklin Street just after 5 p.m. Police say an unknown man approached the driver's side of the car and pulled out a gun, firing multiple shots into the car and hitting the man. The shooter than ran on foot south on Franklin Avenue.

Police say the man managed to drive himself to a nearby hospital, despite having several gunshot wounds. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say no description of the shooter is available right now.
