Men In Car Used Machete To Try To Rob Nassau Pedestrian

Police say the passenger in the car pulled out a machete when the man refused to give them his money.

Nassau police are looking for two men who tried to rob another with a machete in Garden City Park early Friday morning.

According to police, a 37-year-old man was walking on Dennis Street just before 1 a.m. when he was approached by a black two-door Acura. The passenger in the car called out to the man to give him his money, and the man refused. The passenger then pulled out a machete, and the man ran away.

Police say the car was last seen heading south on Old Broadway, and then making a right onto Railroad Avenue.

The driver of the car had a slender build and was wearing a hoodie, a jacket and a Boston baseball hat. The passenger was wearing a hoodie, a jacket and a Yankees hat.
