Nassau County Releases Map To Track Coronavirus Cases

Residents can access the map to see how many confirmed cases are in their areas. It will be updated regularly.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — In an effort to keep the public informed about the spread of the new coronavirus in the area, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced Thursday the county will map where cases have been confirmed. The map, which will be regularly updated, shows the towns where cases have been confirmed, but does not reveal the addresses of people who have the disease. In addition, the county also launched a new service that will text updates about the virus to residents who sign up.

As of Thursday, the highest concentration of cases in Nassau County was in East Meadow, home of Nassau University Medical Center. Second was the Village of Hempstead.

The text service is also live. Those who want to sign up to receive alerts from the county about the virus can do so by texting COVID19NC to 888777.
