LIRR Service Changes This Weekend: Here’s What You Need To Know
Long Island Railroad service is changing this weekend. Find out what lines are affected and what stations are getting skipped below.
LONG ISLAND, NY — As the weekend approaches, Long Islanders will once again have to navigate a train schedule that skips stations on some lines and modifies departure times on others.
The work is part of an ongoing, summer-long effort to improve service in the Elmont-UBS Arena corridor, which the MTA has described as a crucial switchpoint for service between Jamaica and points east.
This weekend, the transit agency will be performing switch replacement in that section of the tracks.

On the Babylon, Far Rockaway, Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma lines, that means early morning trains on Saturday and Sunday will be on slightly modified schedules. The modified schedule window, the MTA said, will run from 12 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day.
On the Hempstead line, eastbound trains will be skipping Hollis, Queens Village and Elmont-UBS Arena from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday. During that timespan, the MTA said MTA buses and NICE buses would accept LIRR tickets for travel from Jamaica to Hollis, Queens Village and Elmont-UBS Arena.

Trains on the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma lines will also be skipping Hollis, Queens Village and Elmont-UBS Arena, the MTA said. Those skips will be in effect from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday.
There will also be no eastbound service from Manhattan to Floral Park between 12:15 a.m. Saturday and 3:30 a.m. Monday, and Bellerose Station will be closed, the MTA said.
There will be trains running between Floral Park and Hempstead, with transfers to Huntington or Ronkonkoma trains available at Floral Park, for passengers looking to get to and from Manhattan.
