Nassau Man Burned Down Home, Tried To Light More Fires: Police
Police say they caught the man trying to light a car on fire, and connected him with another arson.

A Hempstead man was arrested Thursday night and charged with arson for burning down a home in his town.
According to police, Hempstead police officers saw a fire in the parking lot of 10 Jerusalem Ave. just before 10 p.m. on Thursday. The fire was near the tire of a 2014 Honda Accord. The fire was quickly put out, and officers interviewed a man nearby.
The man, Bernadino Jocon, 29, of Jerusalem Avenue, was arrested for two outstanding warrants. Police say an investigation determined that Jocon had started the fire near the car. Police say he is also responsible for a house fire on Wednesday at 30 Jerusalem Ave. which completely destroyed the home.
