Nassau Man Facing Multiple Public Lewdness Charges: Police
Police say he exposed himself to multiple women, and also committed burglaries.

A Nassau County man was arrested on Jan. 11 and charged with multiple counts of public lewdness, as well as other crimes, Nassau Police said.
According to police, Charles McClendon, 47, of Hempstead, exposed himself to two women, along with their toddlers, who were shopping at Old Navy in East Garden City, on Oct. 15, 2019.
That same day, police say that McClendon entered the Orange Theory Fitness at 211 Glen Cove Road in Carle Place, entered the women's locker room and showered there.

On Dec. 30, 2019, police say McClendon stole five vacuums valued at $2,499.95 from best Buy at 1100 Old Country Road in East Garden City.
On Jan. 1, 2020, police say McClendon entered Buy Buy Baby at 895 E. Gate Blvd. in East Garden City and went into the women's bathroom. There, police say he exposed himself to a 65-year-old woman. The woman yelled at him, police said, and McClendon fled the scene.

McClendon is charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, three counts of public lewdness and criminal trespassing. Police say he will be arraigned when medically practical.
