Nassau Man Started Fire In Garage: Police
Police say the man started the fire in a garage attached to a home. Firefighters were able to put it out before it spread.

A Hempstead man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with starting a house fire in the village in July.
According to police, on July 25 at 12:20 p.m., a 78-year-old man was told by his 21-year-old granddaughter of smoke coming from the attached garage of their Duncan Road home.
They went outside and the granddaughter tried to use a garden hose to put out the fire, which was spreading up the garage wall, but couldn't. They called 911, and the Hempstead Fire Department responded and put out the fire.
