Nassau Plans To Build New Police Academy On NCC Campus
The new building would replace the space the county currently rents for $700,000 a year.

Nassau County is planning to build a new police academy on the Nassau Community College campus, the county announced on Monday.
The new building, located on NCC's Garden City campus, would replace the current academy located in Massapequa Park, News 12 reported.
According to Newsday, the building the county currently rents to house the academy costs $700,000 a year. Building a new building would save that money for taxpayers.

The plan is included as part of Nassau County Executive Laura Curran's $150 million multi-year capital plan, which needs to be approved by the Legislature. Presiding Officer Pat Nicolello, a Republican, said he expected the plan to be funded.
There's no word on when construction on the new academy would start.
