Nassau Police Investigating 2 Weekend Shootings

Two men were shot on the same street less than 24 hours apart over the weekend. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The Nassau County Police Department is investigating two shootings that happened over the weekend, and it is asking anyone with information to come forward.

According to police, the first shooting happened at 2:49 p.m. on Saturday at Terrace Avenue in Hempstead. When the officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old man that had been shot in the leg. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The second shooting occurred at 7 a.m. on Sunday, also on Terrace Avenue. In that instance, police found a 25-year-old man who had been shot in the stomach. He was also taken to the hospital.

The investigations into both shootings are continuing, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
