Nassau Teen's Death Officially Ruled A Homicide
Police say they found the body of the 19-year-old when responding to a call Saturday night.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — The Nassau County Police Department has released the name of a woman who was killed in Hempstead over the weekend, and said the case is officially a homicide.
A call came in to police at 8:27 p.m. Saturday for a person in need at a home on Harriman Avenue in Hempstead. When the officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Maria D. Rodriguez-Perez dead. A 26-year-old man was also at the scene and was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. The man has not yet been identified.
On Monday, police said they officially ruled Rodriguez-Perez's death a homicide, but have not released any more details. The investigation is ongoing.
