Nassau Police ID Man Stabbed To Death On Street
Police say the man was found bleeding on the street early Tuesday morning.

UPDATE: Police have identified the man who was murdered as William Pinckney, 57, of Freeport. The investigation is still ongoing. Detectives ask anyone with information about this murder to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
ORIGINAL STORY: Nassau police are searching for the person who stabbed a man to death in Hempstead early Tuesday morning.
According to Nassau police, the Hempstead Police Department received a call for a man stabbed on Warner Avenue at 4:20 a.m. The man was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor at 4:57 a.m. The identity of the man is being withheld until his family is notified. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Police were seen on Tuesday morning searching inside sewers for the possible murder weapon.
