New CEO/Team Leader at Keller Williams Realty of Greater Nassau

Christina Mathieson has been named new CEO/Team Leader at Keller Williams Realty of Greater Nassau's Garden City, NY office.

December 12, 2019; Garden City, NY / Woodbury, NY / Franklin Square, NY – Christina Mathieson, an award-winning Realtor®, educator and innovator with a focus on the impact of solar and energy upgrades on real estate transactions, has been named CEO/Team Leader of Keller Williams Realty of Greater Nassau, a leading regional real estate firm that has offices across Long Island, including in Garden City, NY, from where Ms. Mathieson works.

In announcing the appointment, Richard Amato, Operating Principal of KW of Greater Nassau, said, "We are privileged to have as accomplished a business leader and professional educator and mentor as Christina to spur our team to new levels of success."

In her new role, Mathieson, a Bethpage resident, will be responsible for developing and mentoring a team of over 400 real estate agents, utilizing the technology- and education-driven model that has enabled Keller Williams to achieve its status as the largest real estate broker in the U.S. based on closed units, dollar volume and agent count.

"In business, I'm all about sustainability, and Keller Williams is all about sustainability in careers," Mathieson said. "KW is owned by agents and run by agents for the benefit of agents. Through education and interaction, I'm looking to be a servant-leader – helping new agents hit the ground running and helping top producers achieve more than they ever dreamed."

Linda Chen, who held the CEO position at KW Greater Nassau for the past six years, is moving on to become the Operating Principal at Keller Williams Legendary in Franklin Square, the newest office in Keller's rapid expansion on Long Island.

“This is an extremely important growth stage for our company, and I am tremendously humbled to hand the torch over to Christina at such an exciting time as we continue on our journey as the industry disruptor," Chen said. "We are uniquely positioned to empower consumers and our agent associates to collaborate and streamline the real estate process with our state-of-the-art technology."

Throughout her career, Mathieson has devoted herself to expanding the real estate industry's understanding of the value of green energy, earning the nickname "The Solar Lady." She is the recipient of a 2019 EverGreen Award from the National Association of Realtors® Green REsource Council for developing the Green EDU Solar Specialist Course. Hundreds of Keller Williams agents have taken the course, which uniquely qualifies them to handle the sale and purchase of solar-powered properties for their clients.

In addition, Mathieson is a LEED Green Associate, member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and a John Maxwell Certified Speaker, Coach and Trainer. In 2018, Christina was honored as one of the Top 50 Women in Business by Long Island Business News.

Mathieson gives back to her local community in a number of ways. She served by appointment by Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey on the Suffolk County Women’s Advisory Commission, a group that advocates for women and families. In addition, she works with PinkTie.org, a local non-profit that contributes to worthwhile charities on Long Island.
