NYCB Named Exclusive Title Partner of the Cradle of Aviation Museum
"NYCB Presents: Cradle of Aviation Museum" Will Continue Institution's Mission To Inspire Future Generations Through Learning
New York Community Bank (NYCB) has been named the exclusive title partner of the Cradle of Aviation Museum and Education Center. Located in the heart of the Mitchel Field Complex, the state-of-the-art institution not only preserves and showcases Long Island’s significant contributions in the fields of aerospace, science, and technology – it inspires and teaches new generations to reach for the stars.
With this title partnership, the official name of the institution will become “NYCB Presents: Cradle of Aviation Museum.” NYCB will receive elevated brand status inside the museum and around the exterior premises of the building. The Community Bank will also become the permanent sponsor of the newly named NYCB STEM/Science Center as well as permanent sponsor of all veterans outreach programs and future veteran exhibits.
“NYCB’s Cradle of Aviation Museum not only reminds us of what we are capable of achieving, it is forward-looking, playing an active role in developing the Long Island of tomorrow. Since its inception, this institution has understood the importance of making the STEM fields accessible to young people. This larger mission as a center of education, actively inspiring future generations through learning, is a critical resource for our community and one in which NYCB is proud to partner," said Andrew Kaplan, Executive Vice President of Retail Products and Services at NYCB.

“By embracing creative ways in which to entice kids to understand the technology they use every day – such as incorporating the popularity of games like Minecraft into our programs and hosted events – we are continuously expanding educational opportunities for young people. With our new relationship with NYCB, we are excited to build upon that tradition, reach new audiences, and continue to help develop an innovative workforce for the region,” said Andrew Parton, Executive Director of NYCB’s Cradle of Aviation Museum.
Through its foundations and charitable work, NYCB will actively bring many of its non-profit groups to the museum, exposing a variety of communities to the resources available at the museum. This will include the launch of the newly created “Under the Stars” Financial Literacy program that will be open to the public beginning in 2017, as well as veteran-specific programs that will further deepen NYCB’s commitment to Long Islanders who have served our country.

“One of the primary focuses of NYCB’s community outreach is with Veterans and the non-profit groups that support them. This partnership will allow us to deepen that commitment by providing an attractive venue from which to bring these communities together,” concluded Kaplan.
