Nassau Police Capture Man They Say Stabbed Another To Death
Police say Roy Christmas stabbed a man to death on the street earlier this month.

After a two-week manhunt, Nassau County police arrested the man they say is responsible for a brutal murder in Hempstead earlier this month.
According to police, Roy Christmas, 36, a homeless man, stabbed William Pinckney, 57, of Freeport, multiple times outside a home on Warner Avenue on May 1. Police were called to the scene around 4:15 a.m. Pinckney was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor at 4:57 a.m.
Police arrested Christmas on Monday, May 14. He was charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
