Police: Man Hit by Car in Garden City in Critical Condition

A 33-year-old man was critically injured when he was struck by a car in Garden City Wednesday night, police said.

According to police, the man was crossing Old Country Road from south to north just west of Franklin Avenue when he was struck by a 1996 Volvo that was traveling east.

The man, whom police did not identify, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he is in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the car, a 50-year-old man, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded from the scene for a brake test. No criminality is suspected at this time, police said.
