Police Searching For Man Who Robbed Store At Gunpoint

Police are searching for a man who robbed a cell phone store at gunpoint late last month.

According to police, the robber entered the Metro PCS store, located at 429 S. Franklin St. in Hempstead, at 10:53 a.m. and began looking at phones. After looking at merchandise for a few minutes, the man pulled out a gun and demanded the store clerk put phones into his bag. After getting three phones and other merchandise, the robbery fled the store.

The robber was a black or Hispanic man wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers and a white hat carrying a black and red backpack.

Detectives ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
