More than 160 employers are hoping to connect with those looking for work at a private sector job fair Monday at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in E. Garden City.
Employers from across Long Island are participating, according to county executive Ed Mangano, including Best Buy, Cablevision, GEICO, IKEA,
Microsoft, New York Life, TriCounty Nursing, Valley National Bank and
Winthrop-University Hospital.
“My
economic development team is committed to creating jobs by attracting
new employers and supporting small business development,” Mangano said. “In addition to job fairs
and job retention efforts, I have worked tirelessly to attract more
than 15,000 jobs to Nassau and my economic development team recently
attracted and retained an additional 2,600 jobs that has generated more
than $1 billion in economic activity for Nassau
County.”
Companies are looking for prospective employees to fill entry and middle
management level positions. Licensed professionals, those in the hospitality industry,
banking staffing and individuals with technical and IT experience are also being sought.
The fair is free. Veterans’ admission began at 9 a.m.; doors opened to the general public at 10 a.m.
