Resurrection's CAFE ABLAZE Anniversary To Feature Traveling Minstrel Wendysue Fluegge
Lutheran Church of the Resurrection's Christian Coffeehouse and music venue in Garden City celebrates its Ninth Anniversary on Nov. 18!

CAFE ABLAZE Christian Coffeehouse, hosted by Garden City’s Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, is brewing up its ninth anniversary concert celebration on Saturday, November 18. All are invited to savor the blend of diverse coffeehouse fare and onstage musical offerings to be served up between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
While CAFE ABLAZE usually features two musical acts by different performers, it could not turn down the chance to welcome one truly dynamic traveling Christian minstrel for this special evening. Wendysue Fluegge has sung and strummed her guitar as well as played piano in more than half of these United States. Her goal is to not stop until she has ministered musically to all fifty states. In addition to performing her own blend of original and praise songs encompassing blues, country, rock, and pop, this Wisconsin native will include familiar Broadway show tunes while in New York.
CAFE ABLAZE, where the hungry leave satisfied in more ways than one, welcomes singles, couples, families with children (12 and under free), and groups of friends. For a music video of the talent and a slide show peek inside of “the café,” please visit www.resgc.org/cafe-ablaze. There is a link there for reservations, which are suggested, and can be e-mailed to cafeablaze@resgc.org. Tickets, sold at the door for $10, include beverages, desserts, fruit, snacks, ice cream, anniversary cake, and one raffle ticket toward three door prizes. Pizza, sold for $2 per slice before 7:00 p.m. show time, supports youth ministry. Also separate is a “freewill” offering collected for the talent.
