The Christopher DeCrescito Memorial Foundation benefits families who have lost a loved one to a drunk driver. In 2014, the Christopher DeCrescito Memorial Foundation helped 9 families whose loved ones were victims of drivers under the influence. These no-strings-attached monetary donations given directly to the families provide a lifeline at a critical time when other sources of financial aid for victims are tied up in bureaucracy.
The founders of the Christopher DeCrescito Memorial Foundation know from experience what this is like. Christopher DeCrescito was murdered by a drunk driver on February 27, 2013 leaving behind his three children and wife, Denise. Chris was a devoted father, a loyal friend and caring husband who spent his life helping others. It is in that spirit that his family established the foundation.

The Foundation has two goals: 1) raise awareness among teens about drunk driving and 2) offer a monetary gift to families ravaged by a loss caused by a drunk driver. Money raised offsets practical considerations such as credit card bills or mortgage and rent payments, items often left unpaid at a time when everything is chaos after the loss of loved one. “We hope we can bring a small amount of relief to a family overwhelmed with grief,” explains Denise DeCrescito, Chris’ wife and the head of the Foundation.
Tickets are $20 per adult and $10 per child. Raffle tickets are sold separately. Tickets for the event can be purchased email info@cdmfusa.org or by calling (516) 491-1683. CDMF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Who will be the new fashionista of Island Park?
Admission includes participation in the runway event hosted by NYC stylist Stacie Fitzgerald. No experience is necessary. Participants are only asked to wear something blue. Models can win great prizes for walking the runway.
