Rob Alvey as Mark Twain is Back! Performing Fri July 29 2PM

Actor Rob Alvey, from Garden City, will return from Florida to provide a free performance as the legendary humorist and author, Mark Twain. This performance is guaranteed to include his white suit and cigar and will be a 90 minute entertaining and humorous act. Alvey is well known for his humor and acting and has performed off Broadway as well as frequently in Garden City and throughout Long Island. He has appeared at the famous Friars Club in Manhattan, and was a regular member of the Garden City Community Theatre for many years. Rob credits friendship and mentoring by the late, great Bob Kaliban - another Garden City fixture, for supporting his Mark Twain character. Rob was featured in an extensive Newsday interview in 2018, shortly after his retirement from the US Environmental Agency and discussed his post-retirement goals.

Alvey's book, "Catching Twainitis Syndrome" was published in 2019. His new book, "The Rulebook For Perfect Daddyhood" about his experiences helping to raise three daughters was published in 2021 and is scheduled to be released as an audiobook this year.
