RSVP to You're Invited

Old treasures are reborn in a new store that has relocated to Garden City.  

Sunday marked the official opening of You're Invited, an estate sale and consignment shop, formerly sited at Shopper's Village in West Hempstead before moving to Stewart Avenue. The owner, Tracy Jordan, has run estate sales for seven years and started the shop three years back.

"I want quality items that sell at good prices," she says.

You're Invited...Consignment Shoppe, located at 839 Stewart Avenue, behind the Garden Gourmet Deli shopping strip adjacent to the Meadowbrook parkway, features goodies that range in price from one dollar to $2000 and include everything from gently used children's clothing and collectibles to solid leather club chairs and beautifully upholstered sofas.

Jordan emphasizes that because inventory is always changing, the store's look and dynamic will stay fresh. If something doesn't sell after a certain amount of time, the price is cut. If it still doesn't move, it is then donated to a local charity.

Browsers can be put on an e-mail list to be alerted if certain items they are searching for come in to the store and also get a head's up on upcoming estate sales. No wonder the business has so many repeat customers.  

"It was a hobby of mine that developed into something nice," Jordan says of the business. "And people seem to like to come."

A visiting customer, happy with previous purchases, nodded in agreement.
