Speeding Motorcyclist Didn't Have A License: Garden City Police

The Garden City Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending June 26.
- An officer stopped a motorcycle for travelling 71 MPH in a 30 MPH zone on Old Country Road on June 19. The driver, a 29-year-old man from Uniondale, was charged with driving without a motorcycle license, improper license plate, unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle and excessive speed.
- The food vendor for Adelphi University reported the theft of $8,000 from their bank deposit drops on June 20.
- A bicycle was reported stolen from Parking Field 9E on June 21.
- A resident reported he mailed a $5,500 business check, which was intercepted, altered and cashed by an unknown person on June 21.
- A window to a vehicle parked in Field 7N was found damaged and $8 was stolen from within on June 21.
- Three vehicles parked in the employee section of the Maggiano’s Little Italy Restaurant parking field were vandalized on June 22.
- An officer stopped a vehicle for aggressive driving violations on Washington Avenue on June 23. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Oyster Bay, was arrested for DWI, criminal possession of a controlled substance (concentrated cannabis), excessive speed, unsafe lane use and improper turn.
- Loose change was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a 3rd Street residence on June 23.
- Upon investigation of a truck with multiple equipment violations on Stewart Avenue on June 23, officers arrested the driver, a 22-year-old man from Michigan, for aggravated unlicensed operation (DWI-related license suspension) and suspended registration.
- Officers investigated a criminal mischief report in a Franklin Avenue parking garage on June 24 where a window to an unoccupied vehicle was found shattered.
- Miscellaneous items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Locust Street home on June 24.
- Officers arrested a 19-year-old man from Elmont for the theft of multiple over-the-counter medications from Walgreens on June 25.
- Officers investigated a two-vehicle property damage accident on 7th Street on June 25 where one of the vehicles left the scene without stopping
