Teenage Boy Robbed Of Bike By Group Of 3: Police

Two of the men shoved the 14-year-old to the ground before one hopped on the bike and drove off, police said.

FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY — A 14-year-old boy was robbed of his bike Friday afternoon in Franklin Square, Nassau police said.

The teen was riding his bike near 639 Hempstead Turnpike when a newer model Gray Volkswagen Jetta approached him, police said. Two men came out of the car and shoved the boy to the ground, police said. One of the men hopped on the boy's bike and rode westbound on Hempstead Turnpike, police said. The second man returned to the car, which was being driven by a third person, and drove off eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike, police said.

One group member was about 15-16 years old and wearing a black doo rag, police said. The second man was described as an older man with a mustache, police said. Police weren't able to obtain a description of the getaway driver.

Police are still looking for the group they say stole the teen's bike. Detectives request anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
