Throwback Thursday: Happy Birthday, Garden City Hotel!
The Garden City Hotel turned 140 years old this week.
The Garden City Hotel celebrated its 140th birthday this week.
In honor of the big birthday, here’s a throwback picture of the first version of the Garden City Hotel, found by Village Historian Suzie Alvey. The much smaller structure was built in 1874 and was managed by Garden City founder Alexander Turney Stewart himself. Three other hotels have been built on the same site.
Check out this throwback picture of the same version of the hotel from a different angle.
