Toddler Injured After Babysitter Left Him Alone: Nassau Police

Police say she left 1-year-old and 2-year-old boys alone, leading to one of them being injured.

A babysitter was charged with child endangerment after she left toddlers alone Monday morning and one of them was injured.

According to police, Rosa Blanca Landaverde Ayala, 45, of Fulton Street, Hempstead, was babysitting two baby boys, ages 1 and 2. Around 10 a.m., police say Ayala left the toddlers home alone while she went to pick up more children.

When she returned, police say she found one of the children had bite marks, scrapes, bruises and swelling to his face. Ayala did not tell the baby's parents, police said, and when the child's mother came to pick him up that night, she brought him to the hospital.
