Two Men Arrested For March Murder: Police

Two men from Hempstead were arrested by police Tuesday and charged in connection with a murder from March.

According to police, Hector Lazo, 18, and Pedro Rivera, 23, were charged with the murder of 37-year-old Nelson Rodriguez, also a Hempstead resident.

Police say that, on March 20, Hempstead Police officers responded to a call at 6:15 p.m. for a man shot outside of the apartments at 621 Front St. When they arrived, they found Rodriguez with multiple gunshot wounds. Rodriguez was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, but he died at 9:24 p.m.

Lazo and Rivera are both charged with second-degree murder. They are scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
