Two More Officers Join The Department Ranks
Both gentlemen took their oaths of office during a brief ceremony at Village Hall.
Two more officers have joined the ranks of the Garden City Police Department. Both gentlemen took their oaths of office during a brief ceremony at Village Hall on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Trustee Mark Hyer, Board liaison to the Police Department, did the honors.
Daniel Venditto was born and raised in Garden City. He graduated from Chaminade High School and later went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Adelphi University. He joined the New York City Police Department in 2014 and was assigned to the 45th Precinct where he served in the Patrol Sector, Enforcement Unit and Conditions Unit. He also served as a Field Training Officer. He was the recipient of the Cop of the Month Award in September 2018. Officer Venditto’s most recent assignment was the NYPD’s Risk Management Bureau where he received a Department citation. Officer Venditto is married; his wife Alessandra, along with his parents and in laws, all attended the ceremony.
Kyle Lucia grew up in Middle Island and after graduating from Longwood High School enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served from 2008-2012 as a maintenance technician on gunships. In 2015 he joined the New York Police Department and worked and was assigned to the Patrol Division in PSA-2, which covers the East New York, Brownsville areas of Brooklyn. He lives in Middle Island with his wife Lauren, and two children, Angelia and Camden.
