
Garden City Galleries, which offered a vast selection of contemporary oil paintings and watercolors from its 923 Franklin Avenue location, has closed its doors.
The gallery is just feet from the recently closed Upper Crust Café.
According to Althea Robinson, executive director of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, Garden City Galleries was a chamber member since 1967.

John Wilton, chair of the Garden City Merchants Committee, said rumor has it Italian hot spot Calagero's, which is located directly next door, is looking to expand.
Owner Ron DiGangi confirmed that rumor Friday when he told Patch plans are currently being drawn up for the possible expansion and costs are being reviewed. "It looks pretty good," he said. "It won't happen though until the spring, so another couple of months."
