
Hicksville, NY, May 24, 2013 – Holy Trinity High School recognized many of the students involved in the Visual Arts program recently with over 28 juniors newly inducted into the National Art Honor Society and over 50 seniors displaying their works at the Annual Art Show. The National Art Honor Society was established in 1978 for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in art areas, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community. In addition to the newly inducted juniors, 24 Seniors inducted last year had to fulfill certain requirements this year in order to earn their NAHS cord for graduation. Among the 50 seniors who participated in the school’s Annual Art Show, these students were recognized for excellence: the t-shirt logo was designed by Nick Verdirame of Garden City, Saralyn Bjorneby of Malverne won “Best in Show”, Victoria White of Baldwin won “Best Table”, Terence Gilmore of Amityville and Emily Gricco of Franklin Square both won Honorable Mentions for “Best Table” and Christine Gabriel of Hicksville won “Most Creative Table.” Holy Trinity High School is a private, co-educational Catholic high school founded in 1966 drawing students from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties.
