Water Main Break Closing Waldorf School of Garden City
As of today's 3:20 p.m. dismissal, spring break officially begins one day earlier for students.

Due to a major water main break, water supply to the Waldorf School of Garden City has been turned off to appropriately fix the problem.
School officials were told work requires "significant excavation, pipe repair and repaving" of the school's parking circle.
According to Garden City Public Works director Robert Mangan, the break is on the water service line feeding the school.

"They will be getting their contractor to make the repair since the service line is their responsibility," Mangan said. "The village is responsible for the water mains in the street and homeowners, businesses and schools are responsible for the water service line which they have installed off the village water main."
According to an announcement on the school's web site, the Village of Garden City shut down the water. Mangan, however, said the school's administrator elected to turn the water off and keep it off until the school's contractor could make the repair.

Classes will resume - as scheduled - on Tuesday, April 6. Check the school's homepage for additional announcements or call 516-742-3434 for more information.
