GARDEN CITY, NY — The Inc. Village of Garden City released its crime report for the week ending Wednesday, Feb. 25.
The Inc. Village of Garden City shared a more extensive crime report on its Facebook page.
The items reported took place between Feb. 11 and Feb. 24, and are as follows:

Tuesday, 2/24:
- The Garden City Police Department responded to numerous complaints of noise and parking conditions related to snow removal.
- Officers responded to a Commercial Ave. business for a report of fraud. The investigation is ongoing.
Monday, 2/23:

- Officers responded to reports of tree limbs down due to the storm.
- GCFD, GCPD, and Nassau County Fire Marshal responded to an Old Country Rd. building for a CO alarm. The condition was corrected.
Sunday, 2/22:
- Officers responded to Franklin Ave. and 12th St. for an Uber fare dispute, wherein it was accused that the passenger had threatened that he had a gun. An investigation revealed he did not have a gun, and the Uber driver did not wish to pursue a harassment complaint.
- GCFD and GCPD responded to a Franklin Ave. business for an automatic alarm.
Investigation revealed there was a minor kitchen fire that was extinguished. GCFD deemed safe
for occupancy.
Saturday, 2/21:
- GCFD and GCPD responded to a Franklin Ave. business for an automatic alarm
that appeared to have been set off due to aerosol spray in a bathroom.
Friday, 2/20:
- GCFD and GCPD, plus multiple other departments, assisted with a working house fire at a Stewart Ave. residence. No injuries reported.
- An investigation is ongoing for possible identity theft when checks mailed were washed, altered, and cashed.
- GCFD and GCPD responded to an Adelphi University building for a smoke detector activation. The alarm was determined to be malfunctioning.
Thursday, 2/19:
- Three investigations are ongoing for possible identity theft when checks mailed were washed, altered, and cashed.
- GCFD and GCPD responded to a residence on Manor Rd. regarding an unknown odor. It was determined that the odor was from the furnace turning on.
Wednesday, 2/18:
- An employee of a Railroad Ave. business started his car to warm it up, went back inside the business, and, upon returning, found the car had been stolen. The car was found two days later by the owner , as it pulled into 7-11 in Garden City Park.
- An investigation is ongoing for possible identity theft when checks mailed were washed, altered, and cashed.
- An investigation is ongoing for possible identity theft when an EBT card was illegally used for an online purchase.
- GCFD and GCPD responded to the Adelphi University Sports Complex for an automatic alarm. The alarm was due to burnt food.
