November 10, 2021, Westbury, NY – It was an incredible three-day weekend as Westbury, NY-headquartered Jovia Financial Credit Union proudly supported the 48th annual Long Island Marathon as title sponsor that took place at Eisenhower Park in Westbury.

The Jovia Financial Credit Union Long Island Marathon is one of Long Island's most exciting athletic events that staff looks forward to each year. The highly anticipated event, which was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, was bigger and better than ever with an expanded food truck festival and a first-ever concert series. Jovia Financial Credit Union Expo and Hospitality Booth was front and center at the marathon on Friday and Saturday, along with a free-standing tent stationed with Jovia staff on Sunday. Close to 20 local food vendors participated in the event and attendees enjoyed a diverse range of cuisines as they listened to live performances by six different bands all weekend long.
With the support of the Nassau County Police Department, Nassau's Office of Emergency Management, Department of Public Works, Parks Department, and Department of Health, the event allowed athletes to compete in the 5k, 10k, and the full or half marathon. Dozens of Jovia Financial Credit Union members joined over 300 participates from across the world in Long Island's premier competitive race. As runners crossed the finished line, Jovia provided branded oversized beach towels as well as branded Jovia Financial Credit Union medals.

"On behalf of Jovia Financial Credit Union, we were absolutely thrilled to be the title sponsor," commented Renu Dalessandro, Chief Marketing Officer, Jovia Financial Credit Union. "We all faced many challenges during the pandemic and bringing the marathon back to Long Island demonstrates that we're headed in the right direction and we're emerging stronger than ever. As a local-based credit union and a part of the fabric of the Long Island community, we are committed to bringing back important events just like this."

The Long Island Marathon was more than just a race – it was also an athletic event that raised awareness. As September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, those that participated in the marathon's races had the opportunity to raise funds for several not-for-profit organizations, including Friends of Karen, which provides emotional and financial support for children with cancer. As a leading non-profit financial and banking institution serving all Long Islanders, the title sponsorship is extremely meaningful to the organization as supporting community events and collaboration is part of Jovia Financial Credit Union's mantra and mission.
