Woman Charged With Driving With 8 Licenses Suspensions: GCPD

Here are all of the incidents that the Garden City Police Department reported for the week ending May 22.
- Upon investigation of a suspicious vehicle in Parking Field 2S on May 15, officers arrested a 29-year-old man from Hempstead for criminal possession of a controlled substance (cocaine).
- Video surveillance footage showed a man attempting to open the doors of cars parked at a Willow Street residence at 1:52 a.m. on May 15.
- As result of an investigation of a vehicle striking two parked vehicles in Parking Field 7S on May 16, officers arrested the driver, a 35-year-old woman from Garden City South, for aggravated DWI (more than .08 percent BAC), and aggravated unlicensed operation (suspended license).
- Officers arrested a 65-year-old man from Garden City on Bayberry Avenue for DWI, driving on the wrong side of the road and uninsured operation on May 16.
- Officers assisted firefighters who responded to and extinguished a working grease fire inside the kitchen of a Franklin Avenue restaurant on May 16.
- Officers investigated a report of a stolen wallet that was accidentally left on a soda box inside a Franklin Avenue pharmacy on May 16. Upon investigation, Garden City detectives arrested 67-year-old man from Williston Park for grand larceny.
- A bicycle was reported stolen from a shed at a Grove Street residence on May 16.
- Upon investigation, Garden City detectives arrested a 26-year-old man from Bellport for burglary on May 17. Police say the man, along with two others previously arrested, committed a burglary at a Brompton Road residence on April 21.
- Officers responded to 11th Street and Washington Avenue on May 19 for a report of a vehicle stopped in the intersection blocking traffic. Upon arrival, officers saw the driver sleeping in the vehicle with his foot on the brake while the motor was running and the transmission was in the drive position. Officers were able to wake the driver carefully while preventing the vehicle from moving. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Queens, was arrested for DWI and impeding traffic.
- As a result of a traffic stop investigation on Clinton Road on May 19, Officers arrested a 27-year-old woman from Bayville for aggravated unlicensed operation (eight license suspensions) and excessive speed (55 MPH in a 30 MPH zone).
- Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance incident at a Garden City home on May 20. Upon investigation, a 51-year-old man was arrested for damaging the wall of his home with a sledgehammer. He was charged with criminal mischief.
- Officers responded to a report of a man stealing several cases of beer from a Franklin Avenue pharmacy on May 20. Officers located the man two blocks away pushing a shopping cart containing the stolen beer. The 62-year-old man from Selden was arrested and charged with larceny as well as an outstanding felony parole warrant for robbery.
- Officers assisted the fire department with a carbon monoxide alarm activation inside a 7th Street building on May 20. Upon investigation, firefighters determined the activation was due to a faulty alarm.
