Police ID Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run In Nassau
Police are seeking the public's help to find her killer. Do you know what happened?
UPDATE, 1 P.M.: Nassau police have identified the woman who was killed as Maureen Benjamin, 56, of Hempstead.
ORIGINAL STORY: A woman was killed in a hit-and-run Monday evening, and Nassau police are seeking the public's help to find her killer.
According to police, a woman was walking near Westbury Boulevard and Commander Avenue in Hempstead at 6:40 p.m. Monday when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle left the scene.

The woman suffered multiple injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later by doctors. Police have not yet released her name.
Police ask anyone with information about this hit-and-run to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
